Today is Monday and the day before Melbourne Cup public holiday for Victoria, many have taken today off and added it to the weekend and public holiday so there are campers along the water front and speedboats/jetskis zooming across the lake.
Quiet on the Grey Nomad front with 11 of us currently camped here, just pulled out last years photos for Dennise to see how the girls got dressed up with particular attention to the hats and there were many more here last year.
Billeee and Julie took off to Shepparton today in their new little car, came back beaming and very pleased with their new addition. We have had happy hours each day and often morning tea also, today Sandra cooked up date scones which were very acceptable.
Over the past two nights Juergen and I have alternated dinner cooking duties, he with his oriental cuisine and me with the good old chicken, mixed vegies and honey/mustard simmer sauce. Tonight I have some potato bake that Sandra cooked and gave me a generous serve for me to compare with my own efforts.
Got the choofer out and it is sitting there ready for me to get enthusiastic about outdoor cooking. Not got much wood, Jeurgen has some in his trailer but I have yet to get out the chain saw to cut it down. There was a pile left over near Dennise's bus and we missed it when another camper came up with his ute and scooped it up.
Had a bright idea about the empty space above the fridge, the original one was higher. I measured the spirit stove and it was almost the same width as the fridge opening so the idea was to cut the bench top and lower the stove to a bracket just above the fridge. Darrel had the jig saw and the expertise so in no time it was done.
Before,
After with the curtain protector.
Was up early this morning before sunrise and took the following picture before the brilliant light illuminated the sky, Reflection and serenity. I have noticed that the only others who get up early have to to exercise their dogs. Shower tent is in place and after some hassles was able to have a hot shower earlier. John
Question time for John. When you have your shower tent erected on flat, grassy ground, how do you channel the waste water from the shower away from your ground sheet and furniture?

Oh My Goodness, Gary Kelly, Really mate I don't think it is Proper for John to answer that Question?
Really do we want to know, that when John is having his Shower, Whether he is 'Erect' or 'Flat' or doing it on the grassy ground or whatever,, I don't think so ?
HOWEVER ?? being a new Nomad about to hit the road, I can understand what you mean Gary, ? As you to, will soon have to shower when travelling, [ hopefully ]
Now Jules is a good friend of yours and she likes to assist fellow nomads whenever possible Maybe [ just Maybe ] Next time John goes for a shower, she might take some photo's ? to show you how it is done so you will not have any erection problems in your tent ,

Good question Gary although dazren has answered it well I will tell you my secret. it is rare that the ground all round the bus is level and I find a small slope away from the camp. The Coleman is not dependent on the bus to operate allows me even more scope to find a slope. However when washing my feet I find it better to lean on the bus through the tent, the thought of me leaning on the tent opens the opportunity for tent collapse at the worst time.
Of course young supple people can wash one foot without the need to prop themselves up but I don't find myself in that category there is too much opportunity for rapid sideways movement. John
