Another week has passed at Greens Lake with a few interesting moments. Dennise returned on Friday and we have had various comings and goings from the Grey Nomad's community. We have had many happy hours with the usual banter and a couple of special evenings with Billeee and Jules in their motor home. I could feel the beat and was doing the hand dancing thing.
The weather has been warm and I have been swimming in the lake several times but there was no company from the GNs until Dennise returned and we have been in the lake a couple of times the latest time, yesterday, Dennise brought out 2 single inflatable beds and we took them to the lake with hilarious results, she walked into a hole and fell into the lake losing one of her shoes and the further out I went the harder it was to get on to the bed.
Eventually I was able to lie on the bed and balance with my legs apart and feet on opposite corners for some reason Dennise didn't think it was appropriate for her to adopt that position so she sat across the bed with Otis her poodle balanced with her. Usually I spend a few minutes in the water but this time we were in for an hour or so and intend to repeat the dose many times as the weather remains good.
The fire wood pile has grown when campers left their supplies and Jeurgen drove over and collected it, I used the chainsaw again cut and tidied up the pile. I have a tarp with eyelets and used some of my 200ml wood screws and the drill to secure one side and pegs with adjustable holders for the other side to again access. If the rain comes the wood pile will be kept dry. Last night we had the first fire using the trunk that Jeurgen cut down the sides to create a Swedish log fire.
Richard visited with his partner and her 2 girls so we all sat around the evening fire together with other grey nomads. Richard had cooked banana cake which went down well. This morning at around 6.30am we stirred up the neighbourhood with a generator to cook up some pikelets, I tried to use my 2500watt inverter but it wouldn't kick over his new fry pan. We put the genny as far away as possible and there are not many here just now so I was not in too much trouble.
We cooked up pikelets to show me how to use Richard's recipe whereas I always used the all in one jar that gets filled up with water to the marked line. We had to do it all very early because Richard had to take one of the children to school in Shepparton by 9am. Richard brought out a speaker system for the phone music, it plays in stereo but my blue tooth is mono and these speakers have a light up liquid display which really lit up the bus at night with dancing coloured lights. I want one.
When Richard returned to Shepparton and was able go to Big W he went in to buy one for me but they have been superceded with a newer model with more display and better speakers. The new ones cost $80 whilst the earlier model was only $30 so he phoned me from the shop and I paid for it by card and he will bring it out next time. Can't wait.
We used Dennise's brazier for the first time a couple of days ago and it does give out more heat than the choofer but it is not so user friendly for the jaffle iron. We had to point the iron down into the heat so it cooked more at the tip than behind so the jaffle was better cooked by opening it and changing position. Did a couple but will use the choofer with the opening side door next time.
Had a concert tonight when a couple who play at festivals got set up and played for us. I was not too enthusiastic about country music but when they started with Creedence Clearwater Revival I changed my mind and took out my chair. The music was great with Creedence and Johnny Cash prominently played, Dennise enjoyed herself dancing to the music. John
WOW!!!!!!! What am I missing having to pack and start moving stuff out of here.........cannot wait to come hopefully mid Dec.....Have fun...as if you all need to be told

Frank, my birthday was changed to Saturday because we thought that some may want to stay over and Sunday may pose a problem for those who had to go home. John
