FIRST DRAMA (SORT OF)

Here at the reservation (Greens Lake) a extremely strong wind came from somewhere and I was keeping an eye on the new awning but I decided to try and roll it up. Well the wind was strong as and dust blowing on my face, the worst I have witnessed personally here at Greens.

I was really struggling as it was the first time to roll up the awning so not  the best first time, when out of nowhere two of the local warriors (Billeeeeee and Yeoeleven) appeared to help Chief Crazy Eagle during my hour of need biggrin Phew! Thankyou to both of you. It hasn't rolled up the best but can easily be sorted when things die down or tomorrow, actually tomorrow sounds much betterer. The good thing is no damage.

I have actually learnt a couple of things out of this and even though the awning was tied down I felt it was not enough so that will be sorted sooner than soon.

All good now and the day saved, well the "Chief Arrow" really.

Thankyou again Billeeeeeee and John.

Sounds like you need a trip to a van accessory place to get yourself some storm proofing for your awning Doug.

Maybe some curved rafters, and some de flappers, that along with your guy ropes on each end should do the trick.

Glad to hear that there was no damage. It is great to have helpful friends nearby.

certainly sounds like it was a rough day though... Sounds like it is going to be a warm few days ahead too...

keep safe and cool...

The day was great Mike, the wind really came from nowhere late in the afternoon. I probably panicked as I have never had an awning like this before so all new to me. The wind settled during the night but the rains came. Oh, well. The awning was back up at the crack of dawn even though a little trouble at first but Norma came over to hold one end for me so I could release the other end that seemed caught on something. All good now and as I do this post there is very little wind. It did kick up earlier but decided to leave us all alone.

There was a damaged door further up the camp due to the wind and a couple of scratches to the lady of the house I believe.
