why is greens Lake so important..

Of all of the states and territory's of Australia, why has greens lake been the one and only location to have it's own Forum group associated with it's Post's..

I know from my own prospective it is a very relaxing spot to meet up.. A calm atmosphere.. you meet a great group of people.. Great happy hour time's..

tell us your own Greens lake experiences..

I discovered Greens back in the early 80's now all you young blokes have taken over.

It get cold and windy in winter but a campfire and ghost stories warms you up.

It's madness.

Gday...

You have certainly caught the physical reasons why Greens has an attraction but I think the real reason it has developed 'importance' is the ambience created by those who come and socialise there.

Those who continue to gather have created a camaraderie, bond and perhaps even a kinship which has enhanced the 'mystic' of the place.

There are hundreds of equally, or better, scenic camps around Straya, but those places are not where GNs gather for their summer sojourn - waiting for the favourable northern seasons.

Greens has become the 'mecca' to which GNs are drawn from November to March each year. A place for the disciples to congregate.

What ever the reason ... it has certainly grown in stature from its earliest beginnings when Missionary Marg entered the wilderness and selected the place for convocation.

It has certainly taken on a life of its own ... and would have to be the best known 'meeting place' to all on this forum.

Let's all pray for its longevity.

Cheers - John
