Sunday 18 January 2015 - 10:52 AM
A bushfire ADVICE remains in place for people in the western part of Bullsbrook, northern part of Melaleuca and southern part of Pinjar, in the City of Swan and City of Wanneroo. There is no threat to lives or homes but there is some smoke in the area. Although there is no immediate danger you need to be aware and keep up to date in case the situation changes. The fire started between Railway Road and Gully Road and is burning in pockets within containment lines.
EXTRA INFORMATION: The incident was reported at 9.23am on Saturday 10 January 2015. Approximately 7000 hectares have been burnt. The cause of the fire is accidental. DFES and Parks and Wildlife are managing the fire.
WHAT FIREFIGHTERS ARE DOING: Forty Fire and Rescue Service, Bush Fire Service and Department of Parks and Wildlife firefighters are on the scene. Firefighters are mopping up and patrolling the area.
There are many very tired Firefighters in the Perth area after fighting this fire and putting up with continual heat for a full week.
Our Thanks go out to every-one of them.
K.J.
