I would welcome some insight knowledge from some travellers as I am looking to buy and convert an 80's Denning or Austral Coach for long term motorhome travel, I was told by someone "it is like the comparison between Ford and Holden" you either like one or the other over the other.... Without offending anyone of course , they seem very similar to me. Is there any strong particular reason why I should buy one over the other such as: one is a stronger coach than the other; can get more parts than the other; nicer drivers dash & instrumentation ?
It seems both models that ive looked at are fitted out with a GM Detroit 6v92TA's....is this typical ?
Ideally I am looking at 300+HP to tow a car trailer, hence why I looking at both of these manufacturers and down the Tri Axle path for both coaches which offers for the extra weight carrying capacity.
Just the opposite to Dougwe I have driven a couple of Dennings first one late 70s and the other one mid 90s I actually enjoyed driving them both they are easy to drive and both had Detroit motors which gave no trouble, but the most fun coach that I drove was a GM Jumbo with an 8v71 engine and crash box.
Hope you find a good one if you check around some of the better coach companies you should find some well serviced and maintained ones for sale, don't know what Murray's have been running in recent times but they used to look after their buses well

Since posting, I've found out that Austral Tourmasters seen to be more susceptible to have rust throughout them, all things being equal, less than seemingly found in the Dennings, not one, but many have said similar. It must have been the differences between the way they were manufactured. I'm unsure whether these ex-coach drivers were referring to the sheet metal panelling or the framework.
