Stott's Island Nature Reserve.

Am now at Stott's and have been here many times it is located between Murwillumbah and Tweed Heads on the river just over the border from Qld. June is visiting her daughter and will be back on Monday so I will stay here for a couple of nights.

Had an interesting drive up from Greens over 3 days travelling 1613kms and driving for 21,59 hrs at an average of 73kph. The days were a lot longer than the 7.20 hrs driving with sleeps taken plus fuel stops but the bus performed well. I was on the road before daylight both days making good progress before the heat of the day.

Have posted many photos from here on previous posts and the only difference is that the ****erels have been removed, Some say that they have been rounded up and taken elsewhere others have a different story and say that they have been shot for being too aggressive. Pete in the Sprinter is still here with his golden retriever and Mario with his van painted blue.

So I am almost back to the Gold Coast with a Dr's appointment on Monday morning for a check up and to have my toe looked at plus an arrangement to collect June from the station at Varsity Lakes. All very interesting so we will see how February turns out.  John

Yes Jules a day of rest after 3 days driving is just what I need. Expected to average 400kms per day but did over 500 with no unexpected hassles.

Good old bus will give it a service whilst on the GC, it has earned it.

Looking forward to the cruise Doug, setting off in 6 days but who's counting.biggrin

Yep the bus probably needs a good service - Chris will be happy to hear how well it is going. Had a phone call from Mario this morning.

Take care - hi to June - and enjoy the cruise!!

Surprise surprise a couple who I travelled with for a while in FNQ (Chris and Roz) the year before last had been keeping up with my travels on the blog and GN forum, called in to catch up whilst here at Stott's.

No contact for 18 months and there they were on the doorstep, how good is that and shows the value of the blog and forum in letting people know my whereabouts.

cruising is awesome.  I use to think it was for "those type of people", not really knowing what I meant.

I changed my mind after my first cruise, then did 2 more.

You can be entertained all day, or do nothing. Do try some of the activities or shows etc, they're great fun and often "risque".  I recall the horse racing and "marriage game" was amusing.

FOOD, well you can gorge your guts all day, and if you have time, there's morning and afternoon tea!!

if your feeling guilty, you can attend the gym, or power walk around the perimeter of ship lol lol.

I often say, you walk on the ship as luggage, and roll off as cargo!!

HAVE AN AWESOME TIME!!
