Beach front places to stay in a van

Hidee ho fellow travellers,

We are looking for a pet friendly place to stay that has absolute water frontage (preferably ocean) but river or lake is fine too. We live near Nambucca Heads, would want to travel two to four hours either north or south, and we are able to free camp.

Cheers,

Gwizz.

Dogs are allowed at Delicate campground just south of Crescent Head. Great spot right on the beach.

Welcome to the gang Gwizz, enjoy here and out in the playground.

Maybe get yourself a copy of "Camps Australia Wide" or " Wickicamps". Work with them together and you should find some goodies.

There is a good site where you can initiate your own research. Go to Garry Stratton's MyParkList.

Click on the Caravan Pars tab and you will find a number of ways to access parks. The three map options produce pop-up Google maps with pins for each map. If you zoom into a likely pin you can see how close to the water it is. If you select the Satellite tab in the top RH corner of the map you get an aerial picture of the park. If you click on the pin you will get another pop-up with links to more information. The Badgers reports are reports from fellow travellers and are most useful for park selection where they are available (I suggest you also submit reports after staying at a park.)

This is the main site I use for planning. I hope it will be of use to you. Garry is a fellow traveller and has gone to great trouble to produce a site with every commercial park in Oz. To help keep it the most accurate available we can all report changes, doing that will assist other travellers.
