Had the injections at Eidsvold on Tuesday morning and set off for Gracemere by around 10am, driving through Monto I decided to see if Sarg was home. He is volunteering for Blazeaid and staying at the Monto Showgrounds was surprised to see him at home and caught up with him and Colleen who is also volunteering and working in the kitchen. Off to Gracemere arriving mid afternoon to catch up with Paul.
He has lots of plans and work to be done and this morning I set about removing a garden bed with its surrounding logs to allow Paul better access to the other beds whilst driving his scooter. Tackled the second bed Thursday and barrowed away the top soil after removing the log surrounds. Sheba (Gayle) visited us this afternoon bringing with her a chocolate cake and we caught up the past 12 months activities.
Removing a tree was the order of the day for Friday and after some hand sawing we were able to pull down several trunks, cut them into trailer size sections and make the first trailer load ready for tomorrow's trip to the tip. There is certainly another trailer load cut ready for loading and another tree has been singled out for cut down. The electric 18 inch chainsaw did not make much impression on the remaining trunk but my 12 inch baby chainsaw did the job.
Been doing jobs that Paul found hard involving climbing ladders etc. and that has kept me busy for 3 days and apart form the other tree there are another couple of jobs to do to gain space for the scooter to be able to negotiate the workshop. Spent Saturday moving tables and generally making space for Paul to be able to move his scooter round the workshop. Then we took the first trailer load to the tip and cut down another couple of palms and loaded for the second trip.
Paul is physically very strong and has pulled his weight over the past few days it is just mobility that lets him down but he gets there on hands and knees if need be. Sunday and the garage was on the agenda, take surplus items upstairs start on another trailer load for the tip. Make hanging space for Paul's kayak and stack his camping gear below making lots more room in the garage. He has another electric wheelchair and we are going to charge it up and check it out, it is smaller than the scooter and would be easier maneuvered around the workshop.
Sunday and made space in the garage as discussed and charged up the wheelchair, took it for a spin up the road for a few metres. Very touchy just one knob to do the steering just push it in the direction you want to go, not very keen on driving it but would get used to it if need be. Had another trip to the tip with stuff considered no further use with little re sale value rounded up whilst doing the tidy up.
Then got stuck into clearing out between the sheds, amazing amount of junk residing there and on the roofs. Enough to fill another trailer which is now residing on the car ready for the fourth trip to the tip tomorrow. I have been here now since Tuesday and have been working solidly getting the workroom, garage and sheds tidied and emptied. As well as cutting down a few trees but tomorrow will be my last day in Gracemere and hopefully a wind down day after the trip to the tip first thing.
Monday and a trip to the tip first off but a wind down day didn't eventuate. There was an area of the garden where soil had been dumped and a tree removed resulting in an area where the scooter could not go. Paul decided that it would be a good idea to flatten it all off creating a smoother area, so I got stuck into doing it. There also was a garden bed where surplus soil had been dumped and it was decided that a couple of barrow loads should be removed and taken over to a mulch area. again my job.
By now I was filthy and dripping with persperation so decided to call it a day. How good is it to have running water for a shower on call. By now the day started to wind down and I was able to spend time on the bus getting ready for tomorrow's trip back to Wumuma and making another Bullet Blitz. I have been taking MSM and cider vinegar morning and night since before Christmas and feeling very well as a result, perhaps as well after the efforts of the past week. John
Well done John, I was getting tired reading about all that work, felt like I was there., LOL, I'm sure Paul is very happy indeed..., happy travels Fran
Ps that cider vinegar does wonders,(when I remember to take it), helps to lower my blood pressure.. and gives me energy...

Thanks for all the generous comments but all I did is what anyone would do to help a friend in need, especially one with medical problems.
A short note to say that I have arrived at Wuruma and got my old spot back hence the internet access but am looking for some grey nomads to camp here. I seem to be the only one from the forum.
It was good to see you both times you called in John, thanks for making the effort. Will try and get out to see you at Waruma. I still plan to get up to see Paul and Sheba towards the end of the month while checking on things in Bouldercombe and Yeppoon before returning here till our job is done. Cheers Colleen
Hi all, I am heading slightly in that direction in a few days so will do a bit of a detour & check Wuruma out. Been eavesdropping here for a while & also so will catch up with some of you shortly.

Hi Mike and welcome to the forum, at the moment I am the only forum member here. Everyone else has reasons delaying their arrival but in due course there will be several here.
Please look me up when you visit I am camped just below the amenities block and above the dam, my avatar will give you a target to look for.
