Upgrade suspension on my Dmax???

Hi jokas there are various forums here for posting different questions like this
This one would be better in " techies corner " for instance where you can ask technical questions like this
There are some here who get a little testie about not using the correct forum when posting
So please look through the various forum sections to see which is the best place to post your questions
Also there is a search button use it to check if someone has already posed the same or similar question

What you need to do is to get a good idea, or better still weigh what you be putting on the vehicle.

Say you have a Dmax GVM of 3 tonnes for instance and fully loaded with van on and your GVM is 2.5 - 2.7 tonnes then suspension should handle this OK.

However if you are going to run right on your GVM then upgrade may be prudent.

What upgrade have you considered? Springs and shock absorbers?

Hopefully not airbags.

Hi Jokas

I have a 2012 Dmax single cab tray back, bought second hand.
The previous owner upgraded the suspension, fitting a Climax Suspension Kit, springs and shocks, at a cost of $1956.00. (www.climaxsuspension.com.au)
The ride is firm but comfortable and excellent off road. I pull a 17' Roadstar and you would not know it was connected.
Having said that, my mate has a 2011 Dmax with out upgrade and pulls a 21' Jayco without any dramas.

Thanks for your quick replies. Yes I was thinking springs and shockers but in the meantime I will do the weight check

Welcome to the gang Jokas, enjoy here and out in the playground.

I have a Colorado Twin Cab Ute with canopy and just a few months back had an extra leaf put each side of rear suspension, raised the back up 2" and tows my 19'6" van much better.
