Very clever, expect a photo of the car with the real caravan in exactly the same spot.

Hey Jeff, Your den is covered in snow mate. I think your new den will be over weight for sure.

Keep Safe.

Thanks Dougwe. The white gap means we're without a den at the moment cry, but I don't think it's snowed around Wilpena Pound for a while now (that might just appear as a challenge to some wags to report when it last did though biggrinbiggrin)

We put lots of time and research into the new den. At 20'6" it will still be well inside the limits of the Triton.

3-5 weeks now (Hopefully). We're starting to feel like Kids with Christmas not far away biggrinbiggrin

Jeff

7 to 21 sleeps to go!

Our brand spanking new Kokoda, 20'6", Tribute II, XL Platinum with custom bits and bob's is nearly here.biggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrin

After much research and looking at many, many caravans we came to the realisation that the Kokoda caravan was the caravan we kept comparing everything else too. It ticked all the boxes for us. Kokoda were more than willing to customise the caravan for us and the dealer, Adelaide City Caravans definitely gave us the feeling that the service after the sale will be as good as the service before.

Adelaide City Caravans, like Kokoda are a small player in a big field, and are building a business on reputation and a good product (and before the "naysayers" butt in. Yes, I know Kokoda do not build their own vans but use others to build them). We have found the Kokoda product to be as good (if not better) than many of the others out there at a fair price.

biggrin

Hi grahos.

Nah not really mate. To be truthful we were very sceptical when the dealer first said 6-8 week build. no

Yes it would have been nice, but as the old saying goes "if you don't expect it you won't be disappointed" (or some such). Plus in recent times the weather has been cold and wet so it's been no biggy.

I'd be lying if I said we weren't looking forward to it. biggrin

Jeff

Whew! it's been a long 6-8weeks. I was a little skeptical when first told confuse, and I expected more like 3 months no, and yes if OUR CARAVAN turns up next week it will just about be 3 months to the day.

Why do I expect next week? Well I am getting sliding drawers in the tunnel boot and had asked for one drawer to be 1.5mt long and the other 0.5mt. Well the builder has called the dealer and suggested 1.2 & .7mt would be a better setup as the longer one could easily be overloaded and cause damage to the anchor points. That tells me w00t.gifw00t.gifw00t.gif IT'S NEARLY FINISHED!! w00t.gifw00t.gifw00t.gif

Soo...7 sleeps to go? (Hmmm maybe evileye)

We'll see wink

Week 0 - biggrin - 13th June, Trade in Poptop, 6-8 week delivery, not convinced as everyone else's seem to take 3 months. But Hey if it is then that's a bonus

Week 1 - biggrin - Happy with our choice. I know I'll get a favourite picture, white out our "old" van and start this thread

Week 2 - biggrin - Weathers going down hill so no issues without a van

Week 3 - blankstare - Up coming carpel tunnel surgery, so I'm getting stuff done around the house, no thoughts of caravaning at the moment

Week 4 - blankstare - Surgery done, can't do anything with left hand (not as bad as when right hand was done 6 weeks before. Being right handed made some everyday tasks difficult)

Week 5 - smile - Get some work done on the Tug, change back to more conventional 7 pin & Anderson plug arrangement

Week 6 - biggrin - Already! gee that went quick. Not long now, until a call from the Dealer, "sorry a bit of a delay" cry

Week 7 - smile - A trip to Cairns to meet "In laws" from Norway. Not thinking of caravans at the moment

Week 8 - blankstare - An email from the dealer "Sorry still being held up, another 2 weeks"

Week 9 - yawn - "Sigh" no van

Week 10 - hmm - Up coming work trip to Brisbane, looks like the weather will be nice up there, probably be good to have a caravan in that sort of weather

Week 11 - hmm - Back from Brisbane. Hey the guy said the van would be ready "Last Week", still I did think 3 months was the more realistic figure. Call in and see the dealer. Not long now "I'll check with the manufacturer"

Week 12 - smile - Call from the dealer. The slide out drawers in the tunnel boot need some adjustment on lengths. Well surely that means it really is close now...Doesn't it?? confuse

Week 13 - evileye - Patience really getting thin now. 13 weeks in 3 months isn't it, maybe I need to cool my heals. Bugger it! he did say 6-8 weeks. So an email to the dealer "Gee sorry Jeff, not long now, some part been have been delayed" evileye

Week 14 - next weekend - Patience in tatters, weathers on the turn (29°C today) cry ........................................

It arrived in Adelaide yesterday. Would you believe we still have to wait 2 weeks to take possession cry. Mainly my fault, well the neighbors really. Their putting in a swimming pool and are going to crane it over my property, so I don't want the van in the driveway for that. The following week I have to wait till Saturday because the hand over people at the dealer are having time off. Still nearly there biggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrin
