We stayed at the Crocodile caravan park $26.50 a night and it is the only caravan park with grass , The top Tourist has very nice amenities and all gravel surface $40 a night . Would stay at crocodile again good camp Kitchen and picnic table next to sites and I like grass , Lighting Ridge is great place to visit and there is a free camp about 5 klm out of town near the turnoff to the 3 outback Pubs which is a must .

It is a bit muddy but after 40 plus mm it is to be expected
The other parks are worse
Have done the black hands and it was excellent but not good for if you have breathing problems

You must have been there at the same time we were - but we stayed for a month!! We were down in the front corner - one of the ensuite sites. Where were you, I wonder?

Lightening Ridge Tourist Park
New management, a really friendly young couple trying very hard to make a welcoming and accessible park
$30 for a powered site, they have laid gravel everywhere to allow good access in the wet and have nibbles at 4:30 nightly.
Stopped on a whim in the rain this afternoon after seeing the gravel and were pleased
