Hi All, could you please tell me what is the one thing you feel is most important to have when you travel?
Motor homes seem to come with very small fridges, would you buy a larger one if you could fit it in by getting rid of something else? Your advice will be very much appreciated. Warm regards, Ruth
Welcome to the gang Ruth, enjoy here and out in the playground.
A good reliable Tug.
As for the fridge, I started out with a 3 Way 90lt but when I got the new Den I made sure I got a bigger one, now have 3 Way, two door 180lt fridge freezer, much better.
The other thing I didn't have and didn't think I needed was my own toilet and shower However, again, when I got the new Den I ordered my own seperate toilet and shower (ensuite) FANTASTIC.
I do mainly free camping but also Show Grounds, CVP's etc when I feel like it or have to.
Just get out there and have fun but keep safe doing it.

Hi Doug, thanks very much for the advice, it's very much appreciated & thank you for the welcome I think I'm going to love it out there, I'm really excited about it! Ruth
As one expects to follow the sun it wilo always be warm so plenty of storage for cool drinks and as I enjoy cooking so a big fridge is essential. Also need a big freezer for all the fish I hope to catch! LOL

Bear in mind that a larger fridge needs much more power, either electrical or gas.
We often travel for up to 9 months at a time with a 130L fridge and a 25L freezer. They are totally adequate for full time travel in Australia. The fridge we use in Europe is even smaller and we travel for 6 months at a time.
Like many things, travelling full time requires you to think a bit differently from how you think at home. Failing to realise this will mean you will either be seriously overloaded or need a semi trailer sized vehicle that will not only cost a fortune to buy, but a fortune to run as well and then it will be too big to go to many of the best parts of this great country.
