OzPig - sad news

Tragically we have lost our treasured Dad, Poppy, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend. Allan Shepherd died suddenly yesterday and we are devastated. We are comforted knowing that he and his darling Assunta, our Mum, are now together again.

We are so grateful for this man you all knew as the inventor and rock behind Ozpig and we know this will come as a shock to you all.

We would be honoured if you could all light your pigs on Sunday night and share your photos and your memories with us as this will bring great comfort to us all.

Many thanks for your ongoing support and love. The Ozpig family is a big family and we appreciate you all.

I think you told us about the wife or someone from the same company passing not that long ago David. Sad times.

Yes Doug,  this was big news in the RV community at the time.

In late 2014  Assunta Shepherd fell from a moving Motorhome driven by Allan while trying to close the door which had come open,  and was killed.

In WA I believe while setting up new OzPig dealers.  Living the dream,  selling OzPigs while seeing Australia.

See my Post of October 16 2014.

All very tragic.

I have had a lot of fun with my Ozpig in the last 5 years and they have a big following.

Yeh, I thought that was the case. Very sad indeed. Thanks David.

We bought our Ozpig around 5 years ago & have used it extensively on our many travels. A great invention & one of the best pieces of gear that we've bought. Sad news.

That is terribly sad news, we don't have an Oz pig but watched the demo at Brisbane Caravan show, if I had my way we would have bought one home. Equally as sad about tragic accident that took his wife. Hope all the family are going ok.

I am surprised that the vented door is an optional extra on the ozpig, that will set you back another $50 odd. To get the stove to burn properly without the vented door you have to leave the door slightly open. I suppose you could modify the original door yourself, but it kind of defeats the purpose of buying a ready made stove.
