Hi all, Let me preface my question but letting you know that I am " the son of Frank Spencer " and that anything that can go wrong will go wrong and anything that can break will break if I'm repairing it.
We have recently purchased a 2000 Jayco Westport with all the good things in it like a full ensuite. I did manage to get the gas hot water unit operational without blowing up either the van or myself, but am unsure how to use the water heater with 240V power. Youtube explains about turning on a black switch which is located in the water unit box however I can not find this. Any ideas ???
I also believe the anode tube needs to replaced. Is it just a matter of ensuring the water is empty and then unscrewing the old one and replacing it with the new rod or is a bit more complicated.

Most people leave that black switch on all the time. Should just need to turn the 240v switch on, after making sure it is plugged in.
When changing the anode switch the 240v supply off, release the pressure by opening taps and using the pressure relief valve.
After changing the anode make sure you fill the hot water system tank with water before hooking the 240v back up.
Thanks for that Bill. The problem is that I can't to find a black switch inside the heater unit. There is a black reset button but presume this is for the Gas??
