As anyone that read my other thread about us pet owners doing the right thing in CP's, know I'm an ardent believer in picking up and doing the right thing with dogs especially, well I've heard the best now !
Was walking my two spaniels for their last evening walk and my female springer did her thing as usual on the edge of the park roadway, not a poo just a small puddle of urine.
A rather plump older lady came from nowhere and said I should be ashamed of myself for letting my dog wee where she did, as people have to walk there ! now this was not near any caravans or people but at the side of the track leading to the showers and toilets.
I gave her a piece of my mind and suggested it would not be a problem in future as I was going to train her to use a porta potti for such instances.
Just be aware these mongrels are out there looking for an excuse to complain about anything animal related. This is not the first time either, in Streaky bay last year I was approached in a similar way, this time by an older gent, asking me why I didn't pick up after my dog, when I actually had a poo bag full in my hand at the time, she was again having a wee !
If it's left to these idiots we'll be digging little clods of earth up like divots every time the dog relieves it's self. Or worse banned from owning a dog in any CP.
Think I'm beginning to prefer animals to some people as I get older.
Brian, you don't have to get older to prefer animals to some people. What I'd like to see is someone travel with a cat that uses toilets. Listening to someone on the radio who has trained their cat to do that. Imagine the outrage as you take your cat into the amenities block.

Well in the case of dogs they are after all man's best friend!. It's disappointing though that there are fewer places where my little mate is welcome these days.

I am convinced that I prefer my boys to most people! Someone once asked me why I was not picking up my dogs piddle...I explained that I only had plastic bags with me, I had not remembered to bring a sponge....they stood there looking rather perplexed!

I think I should kind of feel sorry for these complaining people, they must be limited with their life experiences and never had the love of pets. They should look at the dirty toilet paper littering this country, do they think dogs and cats did it? No they've never been there and probably will never go. Then again maybe I won't, some people appear happy trying to make others feel bad, that's all they have in their lives and people with pets have so much more.
When you look at the crap left by some campers without dogs I wonder what their homes are like . Had a good mate in Sydney and his wife would drag the hose out and flush any wee spot after the dog had finished and we were of water shortages at the time so a bloke up the street rang the ranger about her using the hose during water restriction and then the fight started. Could not help but stand back a laugh at them all.
Just been out on the road for a few weeks happy to report more parks are taking dogs out of school season which suits us fine I don't want my girl contaminated with urban gorilla traits.

Allara, I'd be there like a shot to say hello. We have only just started free camping for short periods, been to 2 places and I have now met 12 dogs. My dog is not suitable to travel with us so I suffer from canine depredation.
