Home is a 1991 Mazda T 3500. It's a bit like the owner, older model, but well maintained. If you have one, or a Coaster, you sit next to the motor. The insulation under the bonnet is just worn out. Any suggestions on replacement, please ?

Hi Pipes
I insulated my yacht engine room with a flat compressed sheet (like wool/fibre) which was fire proof and sound deadening.
I think you will need the same type of material but in a flexible type.
You could search under sarking which can be flame resistant and noise reducing. Here's a site to help:
Have a look in Supercheap, Repco etc for engine insulation. It's in rolls and sheets and designed with some self stick on one side for installation, Like under a bonnet. Also Whitworths ( The Marine and Boat stuff) they do three different types from sheets to rolls.
The Whitworth's stuff is on page 50 of their online catalogue cat nos.80200N 80202N and 80204N
Hope you find the stuff that suits your job

Clarke rubber sell a silver backed rubber sheet ,comes in a roll and has a sticky back that I found wasn't all that good anyway ,I use it on the engine bay of the race car that runs at about 110db and quietness quite a lot, haven't thought about it for the coaster but not a bad idea. Although with the 308 I only get a little induction noise anyway.
I am also looking for some kind of matting to replace the worn one between the two front seats of my Toyota Spacia. It sure does get hot sitting next to the engine. Have sent an email to Bradford Insulation as Baz421 suggests. It needs to be noise proof and fire proof. Will post outcome when I receive a reply from them.
