I am looking forward to being a part of this forum. I am a newby to this forum but I have travelled by 4X4 and van on and off for the past 30 odd years and have loved every minute of it.
I love to debate and I love forums :) I love seeing a balanced point of view and enjoy pushing debates to find the balance,.
I guess at 54 I am starting to consider myself as a grey nomad. I have been a nomad from 15 starting my working life on a North Eastern station in W.A. My honeymoon was 2 years travelling Australia with an old 78 FJ 40 Land cruiser and a 1977 17 foot Viscount caravan. From there a further 10 plus weeks per year caravan travelling with my ever-growing family various rigs until now, when I have had opportunity to set up again as a 2 person rig to go wherever whenever . When work doecnt get in the way LOL.
I have just spent the last couple of years sorting my rig. Rebuilding my van from a stripped out wreck and building a beast out of a new PX Ranger. All now almost finished
So joining this forum is in recognition a few grey hairs are appearing
I look forward to positive contribution. At least I hope the balanced people will find me positive

Bit of a worry that us early 1960's models are now on the way to becoming grey nomads isn't it. Last time I checked I was 21.....
Your honeymoon combination brought back memories of caravanning in the 1970's with family holidays mostly a 1976 G60 Nissan Patrol and a 1974 Modern 19ft van. First went to Coral Bay in 1973.....not much there then. Was like a proper adventure back then being rough dirt roads etc.
When my wife and I got together in March 1982, I took her to Kalbarri from Perth in June 1983 to see if she liked caravanning in a hired caravan and MQ Nissan Patrol. Then tested the water in July 1984 same way but up to Exmouth and Coral Bay area.
We were somewhat different in the caravan parks being so young, but I recall all the older folk/grey nomads were very friendly to us.
If she didn't like the lifestyle she was gone(semi joking) , happily she did. We did a lot of caravanning with our own sons...now all grown up.
Anyway enough walking back down memory lane ....so welcome to the forum.
