I already saw that project on another site and I was very impressed. I look forward to seeing the final result. Welcome.

Thanks for the kind words guys.

I am not progressing as quick as I wanted to because I also took on another commercial project. Got my arm twisted for that. This is the reason I had been falling behind my schedule, however it is not really a problem since we do not have a fixed time frame.

At the moment I am just sniffing around forums to see where we can get good location info later. We are planning to stay longer periods in one place and do whatever we can do at the place. We are into different kind of sports and exercise. We do not particularly like caravan parks, actually we will try to avoid them as much as we can, and since we are fully self contained in every aspect we also are seeking larger private properties for a stay for whatever contribution is appropriate. We also have a property in Perth and are open to people contacting us for a stay during their travels.

regards

Gmd

OMG Gmd just checked out your website very impressive being an owner and fan of 5th wheelers and a farmer that has made and modified a lot of farm equipment I can say that this is a massive undertaking that you have taken on you will certainly have a magnificent van no home when completed.
Some very nice ,innovative installations included , do I understand it correctly that your battery setup is double redundent so of one inverter goes down you can use the other one and both if a large amount of power is required ?
Is that an aluminium frame you are using also?
May I make a comment that I were thinking the other day when looking at my roof re installing another pair of Solar panels, I have seen here on this great forum about grey nomads collecting rain water from there annexes and directing it to there water tanks the thought crossed my mind why could one not have the roof designed to collect and drain the rain water directly into the van water tanks via a filter of course, and with a diverted to allow the first bit of rain to wash the roof ?
I wish you well in your efforts and will follow your progress with much interest.
Woody

We hope to stay away from the rain, so that would not work for us. But we have a desalination unit and can make our own water from pretty much any source.

You are reading correctly: The electrical supply has a battery, inverter, solar charger and string of 1Kw flexible panels times two, capable of running as independent redundant systems or both inverters can be combined and running in parallel to produce 6Kw output. Each battery bank has a capacity of 9Kw. I also can run both solar chargers in parallel into one battery to charge the Lithiums quicker when one battery is lower than the other for whatever reason. I have scenarios where I might use the two banks differently and will have a significant state of charge difference between the two.

It is a fun project and it is refreshing that I can do it the way I want and not being constraint by any external requirement or condition. I can do the best I can in every detail of the van.

Regards

Gmd
