G'day All

Gday , I'm Al and thats Jen over at the table there glaring at me for spending to much time on chat forums.

We are soon to be GNs . Recent illnesses have forced us into early retirement and being unemployable and only 54yo it means we can no longer afford to stay in our house .

Well technically , we could but it would mean every penny we get would go to the house , not a zac left over for "LIVING" . So rather than sit in this house eeking out a very spartan existence till we are 70 then maybe travelling (and maybe not , who knows what is round the corner , health wise) , we are going to sell up, buy a nice liveable rig and become gypsys for 10 or 15 years. Anyway I only say all this by way of introduction, not for sympathy , these are the cards we are dealt so we will play them

We are experienced campers , tents and camper trailers , but new to Vans .

Not to sure about what sort of set up we will end up with, will depend on the proceeds of the sale of the house , but our thoughts so far are , tandem axle , fully self contained around the 20ft mark with perhaps a triton , dmax or something similar to tow with.

Any away , enough prattling , there are many threads to read and no doubt as many silly questions for me to ask down the track .

Cheers for now.

Welcome from us Al and Jen

lots of info in here if you do a search. Ask a question if you cannot find an answer by searching. Lots of helpful people in here only too willing to assist.

The polo shirts in the shop are really good quality, look great and are very comfortable too.

Welcome to the gang Swoffer, enjoy here and out in the playground.

Your ideas on a rig sound good so far. Make sure you have a couple of good size batteries and enough Solar Panels to keep them charged for all your needs. I had a double 12v cig socket put wherever there was a double 240v power point.

Maybe even concider a anderson plug inside and one each side of the van hooked into the batteries, I have found them very handy but did them myself as I never gave it a thought during the build, silly old me hey.

Keep Safe on the roads.
