Fish in Greens Lake

After posting about the wind & asking if there were any fish getting caught I thought I would do some research on if the lake has been stocked at all.

I found the following .... no excuses for not catching any fish John Yeoeleven.

Greens Lake, Corop native fish stockings:

2015 - 4195 cod & 5000 Yellowbelly,

2014 - 10,000 YB,

2013 - 5,000 MC & 5000 YB,

2012 - 5,000 MC & 17,000 YB,

2011- 20,000YB,

2010 - 10,000 MC & 20,000 YB,

2009 - 10,000 MC & 20,000 YB,

2008 - 10,000 MC & 20,000 YB,

2007 - 20,000 YB,

2006 - 10,000 MC & 5,000 YB
That's over 50,000 Murray Cod & 122,000 yellowbelly!

(did the lake completely dry up at any stage?)

I found no record of stockings prior to 2006.

Hi Daryl,

No excuses just not fishing, know where to fish near the channel but not interested. Haven't wet a line in 3 weeks.

Rods and tackle put away in the bus and the worm farm gone.

All the best for your efforts.

John

Yes we all caught some fish on Friday night with a foam container. How clever are we.

All the fish went to Corop and none to Greens and Corop has dried up many times, so none survived

Hi Daryl/C

We recently spent 2 lots of 3 days at greens i spun a green and black spinner that should have attracted at least a small reddy but no luck. The time we are there i didn't see any decent fish come out. There are plenty of flies at greens may be fly fishing would be the go...Lol.  Tom

For those who doubt my fishing capabilities ... here's one I caught the other day.  74cm, 20lb

(not at Greens Lake but there must be plenty like this in there)

I doubt they allow Murray Cod in a trout farm Tom.

This one was caught on a yabbie in Taylors Lake which is near the other Greens Lake up Horsham way.

Taylors Lake has been stocked similarly to Greens Lake (Corop) so there should be fish like this & maybe bigger in Greens Lake (Corop).
