The WINDS at Green

From what I have read it appears that The Green received a lot of strong winds.

What would be the best time of the year to visit to avoid the windy conditions?

And what would be the reason for the closure of the lake camping area at the end of December?

Certainly have the Lake on our bucket list.

The lake is only closed for 2 days over NYE, caused by previous years revelling getting out of hand. A good decision.
The windy conditions are not only at Greens, it's been blowing a gale in Echuca for days, 52 ks from Greens. Anytime from November through to March/April is excellent at Greens. Just check Victoria's weather before deciding.
