Lifestyle change: caravan to motorhome any thoughts/comments?

We have had two Coromal caravans, upgrading from a pop-top to a 545 Lifestyle which we have had for almost ten years.

Changing circumstance has us leaning towards a motorhome and specifically the new Avida Birdsville C7424 with the slideout.  As these rigs are built to order it is difficult to actually see one, kick the tyres, or take a test drive, especially here in Adelaide.  The local dealer has other Avida rigs but no Birdsvilles on the floor.  Are there any grey nomads out there who has one or knows of an owner of one that would not mind a chat, either via this forum, email, or phone.

Regards

David

Hi David, we don't have a new Avida..... far from it.  As much as I like towing, making the switch from caravan to motorhome was the best thing and just made things a lot eaiser. In most cases we just pull up and "Live".  Don't miss the leveling then the unhitching one bit. There have been some adjustments but those are very minor, overall we much prefer the motorhome over the many caravans we had.

Just one thing..... you still gotta wave to the caravans as well, perhaps one day those efforts will help loose the "them" and "us" attitudes that are still out there!.

Enjoy!  Steve.
