My name is Brian (screen name Ryjoe) and my wife's name is Deb. We live halfway between Brisbane and the Gold Coast. I retired from the QLD Ambulance recently after starting as a paramedic in 1980 and I finished my service as the manager of the Brisbane combined Fire and Ambulance emergency communications centre. I am not really retired as I now work for my wife doing administration work for her online photography training business.
We are both keen caravanners and have been around vans in one shape or another for most of our lives. Currently our rig is a 2009 Avan Erin 17' poptop which we tow with a new Isuzu MUX turbo diesel 4x4. We are changing vans in the near future to either a Retreat Spinnaker or a Retreat Hamilton, just haven't decided as yet.
We have been fortunate enough to see a lot of Australia so far but there is still more to do. My wife's business allows us to travel as it is internet based so as long as we have a connection we can operate from anywhere.
I look forward to being part of the group and will try and contribute where I can.
