Rear shock mount on Winnebago ! Oh !!

Well what a job !! The rear left bracket has come adrift off the top chassis . It's pulled and snapped the rivets on top and due course snapped the bracket on the lower single fivet !! Pain to get to . Can't belt the rivets out . Lucky to get one rivet out . After 6 hours of trying to remove the other rivet . I asked Mrs nicley to go buy a set of drills, punch and some 10 X 40 mm high tension bolts with washers etc .. I ended up bolting bracket back and drilling out rivet through bracket as a guide for drill .. It's great having the drill shrapnel fulling on your face . At least it's drilling the bloody rivet out .. Good one GM thanks a lot !! On Monday I'll go get bottom bracket welded back on .. I'm not home . I'm on my way around Aus left Penrith two weeks ago .. Seems the riverts have been failing for some time ? Going by light rust behind them ., Oh what a mission putting the gas charged Bilstein shocks back in too . I had to tie then down 30mm to fit . I couldn't pull them in, in place as outside shroud is plastic and pulls away .. Ahh !! All done ., With basis tools too . AEG 18v battery drill set and angle grinder, socket set ., I'll sleep well tonight ..

Well done Graeme, a very tough fix while on the road. You proved the saying "When the going gets tough the tough get going". nod.gif

Thing is the fresh water tank is over the ( permission to swear ? ) rivets and top of chassis rail so access wasn't easy !! Lucky the. Hydraulic stability / leveller hacks help in lifting . Miss my workshop at home .. Since loosing weight one thing I notice big time ... Rocks through tarp hurt bloody big time digging into ribs !! Skinny people's problems !! Lol
