Had an appointment with doctor at oncology department today. Chemo will start in a coupe of weeks time. Once a week for 6 months. Slight good news is that I will only be having one chemo drug - fluorouracil combined with leucovorin. 2nd drug is only to make the other one work more efficiently. Hopefully side effects won't be too awful; at least there will be no hair loss. A bald lady of 77 would not be a pretty site. This means we will probably hang around the Hervey Bay area for a good while. Luckily we have a couple of house sits lined up. I am recovering slowly from my long surgical ordeal. Still not allowed to operate a car or a broom etc for a few weeks but I have managed to wash up the brekky dishes. Poor Keith is stuck with the rest of the chores. Hi to all Alice
Hang in there Alice. Sounds like that light is at the end of the tunnel. Make sure Keith has some " my time " now and then too. He is going through it all with you but in a different way. I speak from experience.
Keep Safe both of you.

Alice, Where will you be having your chemo? I was told HB dont have chemo facilities. Nambour is the closest.
If I have to go in that direction I will go back to Echuca as they have a chemo dept only 2 ks from Renees house.
HW Hervey Bay has a new cancer care centre, a new building opposite the hospital & I will be having chemo there. So if you need chemo & Hervey Bay suits you because of family here I would certainly check that what you need is available here. Maybe we will meet up there and be able to give each other some moral support. Alice
Hinkandangal, hope everything goes well for you. We will be in hervey bay in about 4 weeks. Strop finishes chemo soon and is doing well. Would be great to catch up for a cuppa. Love rocket
