2 Ne compliance plate upgrade

dunno how it became to heavy as I'm really vigilant on things I have done to the van . First upgrade happened when we bought the van . I had a weight check done and come up to light on tare so they had it up graded befor we picked it up .i fitted a new washing machine 15 kgs lighter , new fridge 25 kgs lighter , reduced battery 40 kgs , removed the box of the back , installed 2 extra water tanks 15 kgs up , gas heater 15 kgs up solar 70 kgs up so I should have been rite to chuck in some food grog cloths  . But on Friday I thought I'd weigh it just for fun . We'll blow me down I'm 90 kgs over . My mind went into overdriVe weighing crap drained out there remanning water . Well I trimmed of a150 kgs . Then I had my mac handicap engineere came around and gave me more gvm problem solvered . I recon the sales girl was full of lies . They told me it had full tanks of water and gas just to get a sale .

Welcome to my world Mr glassies.
I'm the proud owner of a 2004 Cormal Tamdem axle van. Have owned it for 6 years happily in my ignorant bliss driving around this fair country. Until I recently decided to put it over a weigh bridge. That's when the Sh** began. I found my max payload is a massive 230Kg's or should I say two bags of spuds and a couple of bottles of red and I could be over weight! If I dared to fill my water tanks? heaven forbid.
What I have discovered is some of theses SALES people are experts with smoke & mirrors. I don't know if you are aware it's a self regulating industry IE manufacturers decide what they want and print out their own compliance plates.
I think the original owners of "my Coromal" had a vehicle with a 2ton limit so they just made up the compliance plate to 1930kg's to sell them this van. The true ATM should be around 2400kg's which would make it illegal for them to tow. As I say smoke & mirrors. At least I think with the cost of a compliance plate inspector I can increase my limits. I would NEVER trust any one selling a van unless I could put over a weigh bridge myself, I suppose hind sight is a wonderful thing.

Our experience and speaking to others, most seem to have been lied to (or not told) how little you can put in your RV (like gas and water, let alone food, clothing, beverages etc) before you are overweight.

Most people don't realise that 1 litre of water weighs 1kg, so 2 x 80 litre water tanks and 2 x full gas bottles may take you up to, or close to, your legal limit.

Also its the combined vehicle mass they are interested in, that is the weight of the tow vehicle including passengers pets fuel etc., plus the weight of the van, and its cargo.
