BT 50 Drivers seat 2013.

G'day. Has anyone who had their drivers seat replaced/repaired under warranty had any problems with it? I believe that mine still goes down and was wondering if any one has the same problem. Cheers Jack.

Yes same problem. We had an extremely long wait for Mazda to find a fix. Had it repaired. Happy husband. For a while. Just a week or so ago I saw him pumping it up. And yes, it's going down again.

G'day Dianne. Thank you. Mine is booked into our local dealer tomorrow. They claim that there has been no failures so now I can argue the point. Have you contacted Mazda yet? I will post again after it has been inspected.

Cheers Jack

Hi, yes had mine replaced, 2012 model, waited over 2 years for them to come to the party. Ford ranger has the same problem.

For the 2 years they were saying they didn't have a fix but they do now and if you log a complaint you will have to follow up with phone calls checking. the same was said to me, first they had heard of it bla bla bla.   Same thing as said with the soft rear springs but I was persistent  enough to get them to re- set the rear springs which did nothing and in the end Mazda replaced 2 of the leafs with thicker heavy springs.

Just be prepared to make lots and lots and lots and lots of phone calls

G'day Dianne. Had my ute checked out by our local Mazda dealer today. Their response was that the plastic cover on the outer side of the seat had failed and when I got into or out of the seat it was pressing on the cable and lowering the seat. They have left it off while a replacement is found and have asked me to monitor seat to see what happens. May I suggest that you check your cover to see if it is broken. They informed me that they could not find any problem with the replacement mechanism. They also said the cover would be covered under warranty. I will wait and see what happens.
Cheers Jack.

Hi Ballast, I worded my response in correctly, it took two years with me complaining before they acknowledged that there was a   problem with the seat adjuster , which is the same as the Ranger. Ford came to an agreement with the supplier nearly 12 months before Mazda. ( that's what Mazda were telling me) . I only had it fixed his year. Mazda's service dept up till then was saying there was no point in replacing the seat - adjuster as it would most likely fail again as they would only be replacing with the old maybe faulty one. So far so good but I've only done 3,000 klms since it was done.
