stove not working

Hi, we are having trouble getting gas to work on our 3 burner stove and the electric hotplate won't work either, the power point works (plugged an iron in) and there is gas getting to the stove the gauge is right the bottle has plenty of gas/ Model is DF500DIT-T1.

Also gas is not getting to the fringe it works on power there's gas in the pipe but we cannot light the flame have followed the instructions in the book. Fridge is Dometic RM2553. What on earth are we doing wrong any help would be great thankyou.

Hi folks. I'll throw this in for a starter. I recently had the gas serviced and the bloke said the regulator was so bad it was amazing anything worked. I'm no expert so others may have better ideas. Luck all. Woody46

I too would start with the regulator.   My hws failed thru a faulty regulator. It seems that the gunk that they insert to give the gas a smell collects in the regulator (& elsewhere I suppose)

Make sure the cover is fully open. Had an issue the same, some time ago, had left a can between the wall land the cover, found there is a interlock switch.

Yes,sounds like a regulator full of gunk. Or an interlock switch not allowing gas through. Have the items worked before on Gas?

My set up has a separate solenoid to isolate the gas. Took a while to find the switch. Followed the gas lines from the bottle to the appliances and saw the wires leading to a device in the gas line so figured that was what it was. Then traced the wires to the switch and switched it on and all good.

Wal1 's advice sounds good as well. Cover interlock switches are also worth checking out.

Gday, with the electric hotplate not working, the sensor on the lid of the stove/hotplate/ gas burners could be the problem, as you have said the power point works, with the other trouble with the fridge, it could be needing the gas jet cleaned.

We couldn't get our frig to start on gas so had it serviced at an authorised Dometic gas place recently, turns out the spark was not close enough to the jet, suggested cause was movements probably such as vibrations caused by corrugated roads. Starts on gas now every time and doesn't miss a beat. (My suspicion was faulty installation, we bought the caravan second hand and don't know the performance history of the frig running on gas. It always ran fine on mains).

But I reckon Jude n Garry best bet is you have a gas blockage somewhere.

Failing all of the above good advice not working, phone Dometic direct - they are nationwide in each State and have a help line for these sorts of problems. They maybe able to help with ideas on the fridge. Don't know the brand name of your stove - but if they have a local service agent, you could try them as well.

Didn't know there was a sensor on the glass black lid, so would that stop it all from working, how do we find it. The stove is by Glen Dimplex ( Belling from UK)

Great news everyone thanks for all the input!!!!! made sure the glass lid was up straight. Put a pot on the gas burner and lit it..... presto it worked, then tried the electric hot plate and it works. So it must have been the sensor in the lid. Next we tried the fridge and the red flame indicator moved into the green field so just waiting to see if it gets cold. What a relief..... can't you tell were new at this game LOL. Thanks again to you all.
