Colorado Battery

just wondering if any Colorado (twin cab) owners have replaced their battery with a more standard sized battery. Ours (2.5 yrs old) has just died and the RACQ services have had to send to Brisbane for a replacement (we are near Surat) as its not a battery they or any one-else from Roma to Toowoomba carry in stock. Luckily it has happened here where we plan on staying a while and not while travelling.

Other concern is that if we do opt to change the battery shape for something more conventional we will void the warranty. The RACQ service man said it is a 'special ' battery - and I bet it will come with an even more 'special' price.

I replaced our Collie's battery in March 2016. We were in Adelaide so was able to shop around. Best price was from Battery World and yes only one battery would fit. That is due to the terminal posts being below the top of the battery case so as to not touch the bonnet. I paid $269.00 fitted. I hope this helps.

thanks Owen - we are actually on a farm near Glenmorgan = has been a lot of vans in the Surat free camp each time we go past, a few each night at Glenmorgan and a dozen or so at Meandarra. Nomads are certainly on the move now. My niece Juliana Tobin lives in Romsey too.

Our colarado tyres are not standard. 17" Bridgestone and got stuck in a remote town. Had to go to Mildura.ra and wait 3 days while we ordered from melbourne

so to any Colorado owners - if your battery is over 2 yrs old and you are heading off away from a major serviced area think about replacing the battery before you leave home. Lucky for us we were staying with friends so the 3 day wait from Brisbane was not an issue but would have been a real pain if it was at our next camp at OMA at Isisford (although at least there is mobile coverage there to enable a call to RAC assistance).
