i have a 2009 Jayco Sterling that has crazing in the Fibre Glass walls. Does anyone know if Jayco will fix it even though if it out of warranty. If not how do you fix it. It's a 22 footer so it would be a big job. I brought it new expecting it to be my last van as I'm in my late sixties and I thought they were strong and long lasting. I read on the forum there was a few comments a few years ago so thought someone here might know. Haven't spoke to Jayco yet. Thanks Bill
This is caused by lousy gel coat that has insufficient UV stabilisation.
The only way to properly fix it is to grind it all off and re coat it or to replace the sheets. Neither option is economically viable.
Some years ago I had the same problem with a German glider. I ground it all off and refinished it and that took about 2,000 hours and many $s. The difference is that it was 20 years old.
The builder should be forced to fix it at their cost. "Not fit for purpose".
