Look forward to meeting you. The Weevilly one will no doubt be here and we are trying our hardest to get the one and only Wombat out of his burrow as well.
You sure can Tony. Come anytime before after or even during there is often more than just us here. Just had a couple from Melbourne here for a night on their way south. It is great to be able to put faces and names together.
Any chance of giving us the co-ordinates, or the address so I can enter and view on the GPS. What is the roll call at the moment?, we are hopping and able to make it.
if anyone is interested I teach Yoga here in Perth and I would love to offer a free gentle Hatha Yoga and meditation class on Sunday morning outdoors if there is a space that would be practical and if weather permits.
Getting closer Sue - wish we could be there - hey my brother Alan was rapt, as was Val, at meeting up with you guys and staying a couple of days - they have had a ball - home now to a not very clean house - 20 year old uni student, had a mate staying as well - you could smell the cooking grease when you opened the front door - taken her a week to clean up - that's not including the carpet!!!! Never again.

So glad Allan and Val had a good time on their trip. Looking forward to meeting a lot if new friends this year. Good thing we have removed a few mire trees as our site camp is about 24 today.!! Still plenty of room though for more.
Only 4 weeks to go. We have a mix of people coming with tents, camper trailers ,caravans, weekenders to full time travellers so should be great fun. Still room for more. We have managed to entice Sir Wombat out of his hole and he will be here.
The refurbished campfire area is almost ready, A few more trees to prune so vans don't scrape on them, grade the driveway, mow the weeds (still cant call it lawn!!) finish the gardens (weeding and mulch!!) and we are done. Half the baking is done and in the freezer and seeing as how it is wet today will get some more done today. The plan was there would only be mowing to do by this weekend left to done but we hooked up the van and went south again!! Oh well these things happen.
Got someone from another forum coming to check us out!! This could be interesting, will we pass and be suitable for those from the forum she belongs to??Told her on the phone they are welcome but they have to participate and not just have a cheap weekend away and stay in their own group so we will see. Been to a camp out where groups didn't participate just stayed in their own little corner and had a free weekend away with their mates!! Those of us who participated had a great time meeting new people, righting the world, sightseeing, happy hours etc, so whilst I say do your own thing joint activities like the community tea and happy hours and campfire are for everyone to take part in. Socialising is a big part of these type of things.
Anyway only 4 weeks to go and still room for more.
Having put our first intro/newbie post on the forum today & having had a reply from Pete & Maz (Cadpete) re your upcoming gathering, we'd like to know if we could participate in what sounds to be a cracking weekend? It would only be an hour or so's drive for us from Edgewater and it would also be great to actually meet up with some forum folk. As that Monday 26th is actually a day of employment for me I will ask for it as annual leave tomorrow.
We have a slide-on camper and are self-contained. If you consider us likely acceptable guests do I need to PM you for the location details? No problem if you already have a full house!

Yaketty - you will have a ball at Seabird - Sue will private message you the address and details. We usually have community fish and chips on the Friday night (for those that are already there), and Saturday night is community dinner, where everyone contributes something. Morning and afternoon gatherings are in the "shed", first in puts the kettle on and does a yell out - Kettles On!
We won't be there this year, unfortunately, but plan on being there next. You will meet some great people, and have a ball.

Excellent Ian see you soon!! It is rapidly approaching ..less than 2 weeks..some will be here in 10 days. Mowed the dandelions yesterday and today there as just as many!! I am sure they pull their heads in when the mower approaches then the next morning they are all back poking tongues haha you missed me!!
You must have the same breed of Dandelions as us. Whipper sniped two days ago and can't even tell...its a sea of yellow. AND we all know who was in this spot as well .....you'll both be missed

Ok do you own meals unless you are here early enough on Friday to have fish and chips (that will cost about $20 per couple.obviously depending on what you have they do burgers etc as well). Sat brekky and lunch in your van or you simply bring it over to the shed and eat it there (there is usually someone there to talk too). Tea Sat night is shared so bring enough for your party. Just bring whatever you like. We have ovens and cook top for cooking or reheating if required. Sunday brekky is on your own and lunch is leftovers from tea and we just add to it if required. Sunday tea is get your ownshed. BYO booze (and some nibbles if you feel so inclined) and tea and coffee supplied. After tea we seem to migrate back to the fire, some go back to their vans early and others sit and chat till late. You are most welcome to go looking for wildflowers, play tourist, lie on your bed and read a book . We only ask that you take part in the tea the rest of the weekend is yours to do as you wish. Local fireworks are on Sunday night so we go to that but that is optional.. not everyone likes fireworks!! We take some nibbles and buy a burger or something for tea there. They are happy for people to take their own food and drinks. Gates open about 4pm (we go around 5pm) There is a big bonfire complete with Guys. There is a competition for the best Guy.. you get a box of choccies as a prize.. Can we make some dummies sitting on chairs by the fire as "grey nomads"?? there is a country style band who will have you up dancing or singing along, Icecream and Coffee trucks, sausage/burger sizzle , raffles ,etc. Fireworks start between 7 and 7.30 depending on the light and we are heading home around 8pm so it isn't a late night. First person in the shed puts the kettle on and others will follow. Cakes and bikkies supplied. Its full days of grazing, talking, checking out rigs, doing repairs, getting advise and righting all the wrongs of the world. We have a keeper of the flame who makes sure the campfire is lit at a reasonable time. Happy hour is either around the fire or in the
We have water (potable bore water) and 1 external flushing loo. NO POWER OR SHOWERS so you need to be able to manage those yourself in your camp.Gennies are ok but please keep their use to a minimum as some hate them. We have a dump point.. complete with hose for rinsing this year!! (no wandering down to the back of the block and emptying into a hole and shovelling some dirt over !! We have gone flash!!!). It is over behind the vege garden. Food scraps straight into chook yard.. they eat anything and everything. just don't let them out or they will be in the vans checking you out..they like people. There will be a rubbish trailer for all rubbish. Depending on how much wood is burnt we may need to do a wood run up the road at some point but hopefully we will have enough.
So BYO booze, food and anything else you think you may need. We have board games, jigsaw puzzles, colouring books and pencils/textas for the artistic inclined. and lots of puzzle books if anyone gets too bored!!.
That's about it I think.
Looking forward to meeting old and new friends.
Come whatever day suits you and leave when ever it suits you.. we aren't strict on arrival and departure. Some will be here mid week or earlier and others aren't arriving til Sat , some may only be day visitors and some will stay on a few days.
My long post was a bit gobbleddy gook in places!! Serves me right for not proof reading before hitting send button!! Anyway Happy hour is generally anytime around 4 ish. Hopefully the keeper of the flame will have done his job and the campfire is lit . If it is damp we will have it in the shed. Byo booze and some nibblies if you want. Tea and coffee supplied for those who want that instead.
Getting closer now. still room for any latecomers to come. Jobs are all almost done. . will do a final lets get rid of the dandelions again on Wednesday and put the cover on the marquee and we are done. Now to pray for fine weather!!
Sue
Our first camper has arrived and set up. She has gone to visit family but will be back on Wed. Expecting a couple more then too. Hopefully the weather gods will be good to us again and the weather will be dry and fine
Ps if anyone is planning on coming up today we will be out all day so find a spot and set yourself up and we will see you tonight.
