I have previously had a Camec 21" (overpriced) & Kogan 19" (cheap), both of which had tinny sound. Is there a better caravan suitable brand out there ?
I'm with Aus-Kiwi a sound Bar. All sizes to suit the space available. Even with Virtual Surround Sound features.
To clarify all the old TV's were CRT, Cathode Ray Tube and had enough space for decent speakers. The LED's Etc are so thin they don't have room for a decent speaker hence the explosion in sound bars for modern TV's
Wherever you choose to shop, Harvey Norman, JB HiFi or whatever, look for tv's with a Brick - transformer in the power line. If you can't see the power cord look at the Specs plate. Look for 12v input. Most flat screens under 22" are 12v.
Pick the most expensive or best specc'd one & try the sound.
You still may need a sound bar or speakers of some sort because the tvs are so thin the speakers generally face the rear. This distorts the sound. If you can find front facing speakers the sound will be better.

The reason we bought a sound bar was we wanted to hear tv without being too loud . It's behind our head bed . Plus we have his and her TV's .. Lol . I watch sport . Mrs watches Vickings or Game of Throwns .. See what I mean !! Lol
I bought a changhong tv had a good picture power supply specs said it was 12v so just made up a lead for 12v. I use a fm transmitter to output sound from tv and use our rear stereo to play sound, works a treat for me.
Sharp are normally the best for quality and screens.
Recently though LG screens are pretty good and fitted to a few chinese tv.s.
TV is rubbish nowadays. nothing on.
I take T Box and connect when in range of Telstra. for the TV Rugby. Presto and catchup.
apart from that I have a 2 terra mobile hard with around 400 movies
adding to on a weekly basis through YouTube and Pirete bay.
Got fed up with these tiny tv's we use in vans.
Bought a 31in last month and just lay it on bed when Travelling.
There's no comparison.
Any cheaper tv you going to buy.
Look at it working in dealers first.
Some have terrible screens/colour clarity.
Then buy on net with authorised dealer for half the price.
We just bought a 21.5 inch Sphere TV. Great sound and picture. No complaints.
We have Sphere also and am quite happy with sound, NOT Hi Fi but good enough. We can play ours through the sound system BUT that pioneer sound system is too complicated for this mature aged old fella....
Sphere here too. Plus Kogan brand . I find the sound is better if you can pack the TV to wall or having solid sound to bounce off . Which is hard if you have movable bracket . Our (extension) speakers are very cheap . But being close we don't require loud speakers . The issue is to hear TV without going through camping ground etc . Low base for that reason ..

I need earphones to help my hearing, but they mute the TV - not good for my partner! is there a suitable model that can overcome this problem? Maybe the TV needs two audio outlets.
