I am desperate for some advice.We want to buy a motorhome but I have a cat that would not stay with anyone as we have tried.She is with me all the time and is 5 yo.I cannot give her away as she would fret and I cannot have her put to sleep.Is anyone out there who takes their kitty in a motorhome and how do they travel with their pet as far as letting them out for a bit of excersize ect.We hope to begin our adventure in the next few months.I would appreciate any advise.Thanks in advance Robby.
Hi there, it all depends on how big you want to go. I've got a huge Lance Camper (which is a slide on but like a motorhome) but mine is pretty big. There are smaller options. Let me know how big these might be a bit big for you.

I have friends that travel with a cat that has the run of the motorhome and when set up for a weekend or longer sets up a cat run outside up against an open window so the cat just comes and goes safely. It can't get out and nothing can get in. If just an overnight stop they use a cat lead and harnes to take for a walk.
I have seen others do the same thing.
Anything can be done with some thought. National parks can be a problem though but a little thought also can solve that problem as well.

Hi Robby, we're going through the same process our selves. We have a cat, and we plan on being on the road full time. Our cat takes command of our caravan at home, but I think she will be a fair pain in the butt when we travel. She's 19, much more stubborn than me, and understands all we say. She was saved from euthanasia, many years ago, as the then owner had to go back to England. And we adopted her. She's as fit as a fiddle and defends our plot when able. But she is on daily medication. I am dreading the fun we will have.
Incidentally Dougwe, a cat run outside is on our list (along with many other things).
Thank you for the cat info,we will definitely be taking her with us otherwise she would fret and not eat.She is 6 ys old and a rescue as well @ 6 weeks.I have decided to get a large fold up cage and may be a harness although in the past 3 yrs she has not been allowed outside because we live in an over 55s village so maybe she will not worry too much about trying to get out of our MH.
