Repurposed washing machine..

Laundry on the road is a problem. I spent weeks in my workshop figuring out some outlandish inventions to make washing easier when in remote places. Googled countless sites and checked out many products. Hand-powered, water-saving, rinsing and drying all presented different ways and some were downright expensive.

Solution? A spin mop and bucket!

I needed to replace our domestic mop and bought a foot powered spin mop. $40!! Brilliant little gadget that takes the work out of cleaning the house.

.....and the camper.

But wait! There's more!

It is also a washer and spin dryer for camp laundry. 5 litres max of water, add detergent, drop in your clothes, remove the mop head and then just old-style plunge the washing for a few minutes.

Drain the clothes, then pop in the spinner and pump the pedal. Refill the bucket with clean water to rinse (a few plunges is all it needs), then drop the laundry items in to the spinner again to spin dry! It only takes small amounts, but GN's tend to travel light anyway.

Dual purpose tools. Everyone needs a bucket and it saves on packing an expensive washer or waiting in a line at the camp ground.

That's fantastic,  Was looking at getting a 20ltr bucket in the spare gas bottle holder and washing as we travel.  Love the spin idea, May combine both. biggrin
