The only thing I would suggest is make sure you know all the maximum weights allowed for both the van and car. That known, make sure you don't go over any of them. Put heavy stuff down low and as close as possible to axle area.
Most of all enjoy and keep safe on the roads.

As Doug said and perhaps as you say you have not towed before may I surge at a towing course as there is quite a bit to learn about safe towing

Welcome Shambells. I'm sure you'll enjoy this forum, and get a lot out of it, I certainly have. My advice would be not to put too much in the van (go on a few shorter trips first ) see what you can do without. Go from there.
