hi all i would like to introduce our self, my name is Robert and my wife is Sharon.

my wife and i come from maryborough q.l.d and this is the first time we own a 18ft 2001 jayco westport poptop.

i have never towed a caravan before so i would like to hear some ideas on how to set up my van for towing.

the car is a 2007 Toyota hilux single cab v6.

Welcome to the gang shambells, enjoy here and out in the playground.

The only thing I would suggest is make sure you know all the maximum weights allowed for both the van and car. That known, make sure you don't go over any of them. Put heavy stuff down low and as close as possible to axle area.

Most of all enjoy and keep safe on the roads.

And it's welcome from us two 2
As Doug said and perhaps as you say you have not towed before may I surge at a towing course as there is quite a bit to learn about safe towing

Welcome Shambells. I'm sure you'll enjoy this forum, and get a lot out of it, I certainly have. My advice would be not to put too much in the van (go on a few shorter trips first ) see what you can do without.  Go from there.

Cheers Owen.
