Having driven across Europe, I can tell you that it is a very big place too, and just as diverse.
In fact that picture misses Scandinavia which is a very big piece of Europe.
It is also very out of date....

I rode a dirt bike round it back in '70's.
and sailed round it 1 1\2 times too.

Long way between water stops in places.

we're bigger than Canada too.
In land mass, lots of water between the bits over there.
