G'day Kiwimagic

I am thinking you will get a much better response to your question if you copy and paste it over in the techies part of the forum. Lots more people look in over there

I have recently purchased a complete kit from "SatPlus" (no affiliation) and found them extremely helpful.

There are a variety of configurations and equipment available to suit most requirements and price ranges.

I got the folding fibreglass dish with all the wiring etc but i opted for a TV set with the Vast decoder inbuilt rather than put a decoder box in the van and use an old TV set. My kit also has the satellite finder which makes tuning the dish a breeze....setting it up takes around a minute to align the dish.

I also bought from "Access Antennas" (again, no affiliation) a fixed pole in the shape of an "S" bend to mount the dish on rather than using the tripod. I will use the tripod when trees and other obstacles pose to be a problem when searching for a signal. The "S" bend pole can be fixed to either the front or the rear of my van via two jockey wheel brackets..one each end.

HI KIWIMAGIC     just got a new set up  i think 85cm dish and tripod with degrees marked on

on WIKICAMPS there is a satellite finder tells eg.  10 deg east from north  then

press camera icon top right corner hold up to where the satellite is and it will

show the sat and the angle to set the dish 51.5 deg etc works well for me

a good sat finder will set you back $150

                                              TAJ
