At home in Brisbane nursing my beautiful wife Marilyn when she lets me that is, this will go on for 4 more weeks. Small price to pay for the wonderful years we have spent together and there is so many more years to come.
We are planning while she recoups, the plans just just get better.
Back at my sister's home in Brisbane for some R&R and medical checkups, little bit of work to be done on the bus, then on the road again. Today discovered a new dump point in Capalaba where they had a trial of overnight camping earlier this year - unfortunately no camping allowed at the moment. It's already in WikiCamps and seems it was installed around February, just after the trial.

Still in Hervey Bay for another 3 weeks approximately then off to Sapphire, going via Rockhampton.
Would love to see anyone in the vicinity when I get there.
Sitting here at home in Perth, on a cold, wet, Sunday morning, also just recovering from my eye operation which so far is rather a disappointment, don't seem to be able to see any better now, than what I could see before the op,

Give it time KJ. Some things take a little while to settle. In the mean time don't get too much of that cold air in the eye mate. Have a cold beer instead.

I guess you could be right Dougwe, maybe all it needs is a bit of time, only had the op done last Thursday, could'nt see a darn thing by the next morning, so back to the eye Quack who kindly shoved a dirty great needle into my eye ball, ( hurt like hell ) but it took fluid out and there was an immediate improvement,
I don't get the other eye looked at before the end of August, still hoping to get away and see the Wildflowers but not that hopeful now
P.S. haven't got any beer in the fridge, might have to get into the wine in the Caravan though, some lovely red and white just sitting there.

And we are in Alice Springs, hopefully will get back on the road tomorrow, after spending $2500 on brakes, suspension, alternator and new batteries for the tug.
Fortunately, we have had time to visit the MacDonnell Ranges (East and West), Uluru and Kata Tjutu, and hike Kings Canyon Rim walk.

DUNMOWIN is no longer on the road and still DUNMOWIN!
Parked up at Mareeba Rodeo grounds known as Kerribee Park with another 100 or so mostly "Grey Nomads" from down South.Weather is good 27/28 during the day with about 15 or so over night. Water restrictions in place due to low level of Tinnaroo Dam. First time here at the Rodeo grounds, but more than happy with the set up and very convenient for visiting the attractions on the Tablelands, as well as Kuranda and Cairns.
Off to a heritage farming weekend at Oatlands (Tas.) tomorrow. B+B for 2 nights. Max. temp there today was 7 - predicted 9 tomorrow. Taking hot water bottle in case B+B doesn't have electric blanket on the bed. 12-bullock team pulling dray loaded with wool bales from all the sheep stations in the area. Draught horses, old farm crafts, etc. Should be good. Cheers .. Val

That sounds like a very interesting time coming up Val, Hope you post plenty of pictures of the event,
We attended a Steam Tractor event while down in the Apple Isle some years ago, it wasn't anything to do with speed, but like your event it will be amazing what sort of power will be on display there,
Sure wish we could be there to see it in person, one day we will return, we loved every second of our last trip ( Sigh )

Got back this arvo. from Oatlands. Bullocks were good to watch - made up a video but don't think I can attach this here and didn't take photos, just video. Not as many horses as I'd hoped for. Two of the coldest mornings I've ever spent anywhere. Wasn't even that cold when it was snowing here in Sheffield lately! Cranking up the heater to thaw out.
.... Cheers
