Introducing ourselves

Hi everyone

After lurking for quite awhile time to introduce ourselves - Ken and Lesley from Sydney.

After many years camping and then owning our beloved Jayco Eagle for a few years we decided to upgrade to a full caravan to make life easier when touring now that we have both retired, especially for quick setups. Sooo, off to as many shows as we possibly could to look at caravans and hopefully narrow down our choice. Due to parking restrictions/access at home we knew we could not buy anything longer than a 17 foot van but still too many choices, what to do, what caravan talked to us saying this is the one?

Then we found it, a New Age Manta Ray 16E, which we had not considered due to weight but we had just upgraded our car to a Colorado 7, which gave us more options to look at. While the Manta Ray was slightly more than what we budgeted, we felt it was worth paying slightly more due to the finishes, extra inclusions, plus we got a great show special with many extras.  We picked up the caravan in early June, just in time to experience the terrible storms that hit Sydney!! Luckily/unluckily we discovered that the back roof hatch leaked in heavy rain but it was fixed promptly by the dealer we certainly felt it was better to discover this problem before we started any long trips.

We have had a week away in the van and are very happy with our choice. Planning a trip through outback NSW and central Qld for May/June next year but still hopeful that we will be able to do some shorter trips between now and then.

Safe travels

Lesley and Ken

Welcome to the gang Lesley and Ken, enjoy here and out in the playground.

The Manta Ray is a nice van for sure. I know a few members here and elswhere that have one and love them.

Don't worry about a few teathing problems as we all go through those.

Keep Safe on the roads.
