I could not be called a drinker by any stretch of the imagination

One beer to be sociable
Two beers when having a (not so often) night out on the town

But... I am not a wowser, and do see the funny side of this post

I also like the LIKE lol

Hey Tony, you said 1 beer maybe 2 but nothing about wine mate. You said Like in LIKE capitol letters so does that mean you agree about the wine confuse biggrin

Phil C doesn't use wine bottles he has a hose direct to a wine barrel in the shed.

Don't start me on 'Glenelg' Dave disbelief biggrin

Hello Dougwe

I dont know much about wine, it all tastes the same to me

Tongue in cheek

I am led to believe, so I could be wrong that:-

If whatever is on the plate came from an animal which was able to attack me (red meat)
Then I should drink red wine with it

If whatever is on the plate came from an animal which was unable to attack me (white meat)
Then I should drink white wine with it

Granddad gave me two pieces of advice many moons ago

  1. When you are old enough to follow the horses
Wait until the price of manure rises
You will get a better financial return that way

  2. When you are old enough to drink wine
    Start on vinegar
It comes in the same bottle, and is cheaper to buy

LOL
I hope I have not offended any serious drinkers, or punters, just passing on what Granddad said

You are right about the choosing of wines Tony and it has been that way since man discovered the grape or should it be since the grape got a grip of man.

Yea.
Definitely agree with grandad there.

Vinegar and wines are all the same. regardless of label.
and a long term mate of mine grows Grapes for Hardy's which go to US Table wines most yrs.

Always brings a coupla bottles to stick it up me, along with a bottle of nice Shiraz port they make.
I always give the red away.

God. how can people drink that stuff when there are soooo many good Ports around.
Beats me.

A good Single Malt though. That's different.
