If you have a look at the prices you will see why you are not getting many replies. Unless you are short on the load carrying area you can do much better price wise carrying the extra weight of AGM or GEL batteries.

i got one had it for < week.

1) weight
2) quicker recharge and can run it down much more than agm.
3) i am using all elect, engel, induction,jug,toaster,bread maker,shower,lights,phone,laptop.
4) beware of some other brands if you intend to use an inverter, some can only do 400-800 watts. I got 1500 watt inverter.

using dcdc charger and 2x200watt panels.

Gday Noel and welcome to our wonderful forum.

One of the things on my wish list is to upgrade to Lithium batts for every good reason. The size of the batteries I have now would just about be double the AH capacity if they were liths. The problem has already been stated, way too many $$$ at this time AND you need a special charger etc so if I was to upgrade the wallet would get very thin.

In saying that I do believe the cost will come down as the technology improves. In the meantime the dear old AGMs will do.

Cheers

We have been using a 200Ah LiFePPo4 battery system for the last three years.

It is not an EVO unit but one I have made up myself from separate cells built into a stainless steel case. It is charged almost exclusively by solar through a controller suited for lithium batteries. We also run a suitable battery management system to look after the batteries. I would never go back to lead acid for all the reasons that Stoney123 has already stated.

Check the EVO system for recommend maximum current draw with an inverter to see if your 240 Volt needs are met.

Phil C you can generally use a good quality lead acid charger for lithium's at a pinch and a lot of solar controllers have a lithium setting.

G'day Dibs

Yes I've been looking into it as well
I did talk to Terry a bit more than half year ago
that time it was working out a bit to much for me
So I bought 2 x 120ah AGM's
This week I was told about the 90ah Lifepo4's at less than $700 each
when you have 3 of them you can do almost anything you want I reckon ( in my case)
and with them you don't need other special chargers( so I've been told )

Cheers John

If you are talking of Terry in Mannum,  he recently did my system in our new Silverline.

400ah LiFePo4 with 1000w solar on the roof &  ancillary equipment to make it work.

So far no issues and the electric kettle,  toaster etc are working well.

Cheers Neil
