Battery Ideas for my new sprinter van

Hi Guys,

This is my first post here from Australia, I just recently bought a sprinter van and was hoping to get some ideas around setting up a 2nd battery and potentially solar.

There are 3 things that I'm looking to run with power from my van:

a 2400W coffee machine

a mini fridge

laptop charger

I was hoping to get a bit of an idea of what battery / inverter would be needed to run these appliances and what brands people would recommend.

Cheers in Advance.

Hello thomasturtle

May I be one of the first to welcome you to the forum

Unfortunately as I do not use any 240 Volt power, I am unable to add to the answers of your question

I am sure that others like dragonfly1, who use 240 volt, will come forward and tell you what their system consists of

Welcome to the Forum

Re (There are 3 things that I'm looking to run with power from my van:)

If you are new to the RV lifestyle, I suggest that the above is what you want now, with roof space what will you want in the future eg Roof top air conditioning?, Sat Dish?, Winegard TV aerial? Roof top Vent for onboard Shower/loo. Placement of the solar panels could impact future options. I think the rear of the van is best.

If you thinking of installing other things in van laterthat will take up roof space.
Fit a panelor two on the front down slope of roof.
Nothing normally gets mounted there.
and you can add more later elsewhere, when other roof furniture finished.
