My van is powered by batteries but last week all electricals in the van ie led lights, electric water pump fridge stopped working. Plugged into mains power and nothing?
Does the power points work when plugged into mains power , If so it battery problem , If power point don't work when plugged into mains power start look at fuse or trip out switch
Is there an inverter ? Is there charge in batteries ? Are they there ? Well it is Aust ? Check fuses, breakers and connections including earths . 240v is seperate. Is there a battery charger or thransformer 240 AC to 12v DC ?
If my memory serves me correctly, you mentioned a few weeks ago that your house batteries had been disconnected I would be having a look to see if any of the terminals are loose, by gently trying to twist them
On some set ups there is a small 12 volt switch between the battery and lights/etc If this switch is in the OFF position then the 12 volt current will not be able to reach the lights/etc Also if you have a factory built in charger it will not be able to charge the battery/s with the switch in the OFF position
There is also a 240 volt switch between the outside and inside 240 volt system If this switch was accidentally turned off, then the outside 240 volt, will not be working inside the van
The picture is my factory set up, which although it may not be the same as yours, may give you a clue where to look
Perhaps if you gave a picture of your system, one of the Electrical members may be able to spot an obvious mistake
Thank you for your clear advice. I did take to the auto electrics today and it was the batteries.
One needed replacing and the other one was disconnected when I took it back to the original supplier (still disputing this fixture) with Repco dealer where I purchased it.
