transcool portable air cooler

Am a bit interested in buying one of these. Reviews vary (as seems always to be the case) with some suggesting they are noisy. Comments please. Also, we are aware that in humid weather this type of cooler in not usually worth a cracker. Any comments re these things? Thank you in anticipation.

Thank you Seahorse. We have an aircon in the van but it is very noisy (after 12 years I expect that is normal). Thanks again

Hi Kev we brought a transcool 12vcooler but have only used it at home so far.It works well in a large area such as loungeroom so in a van/mhome i think it would do the job quite well.Idon't think it is to noise as it has adjustable speed so in a small space over a time not bad.Oh cooled a large room from 38 to 30 in about 45min.
