Recommend rear view camera set up please

Hi All,

just chasing some recommendations & brands to use for Rear view camera set up. Do we go wireless or hard wired. I need to fit 1 to our 2014 Rapid / Windsor. We have a BT 50 dual cab towing it. What is a good brand & ease of fitment.

cheers Dave.

Welcome to the gang Dave, enjoy here and out in the playground.

I have a wired rear camera on the back of the den and a reverse camera on back of the tug. I wouldn't leave home without either. I have great view behind the den at all times while travelling and the reverse camera on the tug is great for seeing the tow ball when hooking up the den as I am solo. I find it great in var parks as well.

The den camera is from Safety Dave in Melbourne and the tug camera is from Holden.

Keep Safe on the roads and out there.

G'day Dave, and welcome to the forum.  Plenty of good advice and great folks here.  From what I have heard the wireless cameras arn't much cop if used on the caravan - pushes the range and a lot of interference.

I have fitted a hard wired rear view camera to the rear of my Coaster. I mounted it on the innards of a broken electric mirror and using the old armrest joystick mirror control, I can pan left, right, up and down. The screen replaces my original internal rear view mirror and is always on, so the habit of glancing at the place where the mirror should usually mounted is not lost, I know this does not address your situation but it may be food-for-thought. P.S the electric mirror cot me nothing, I found it in a skip.....Rick
