I do not actually know the cost of Satellite internet at the moment. I do know I looked into it a couple of years ago and it was prohibitive unless you were  a business.

Last week I asked about the new Skymuster Satellite NBN. No go. They are so B stupid they have not taken in to account the number of people on the move full time. We have the  VAST System for TV so it stands to reason there would be demand.

I think you would have to do a fiddle and set up in some area that qualifies for the Satellite internet and then go from there.

Other than that it's getting ripped off with mobile WiFi and as usual Telstra is the best coverage geographically.

 

I may be wrong and someone will point out up to the minute details.

Take the Gateway  So called Motorway around Brisbane. Built as a two lane road and now expanded to six lanes in places. So short sighted.

No western route to bypass Brisbane for trucks. So needed but won't be built because the areas needed to be resumed are upper class suburbs with million dollar Homes.

The Western Bypass would at best estimate take 60% of the trucks that go through Brisbane out of the city. Govt.Figures.

 

So we will have two satellites for the internet that won't cater for any growth beyond a short period.

 

Yeah A real Smart Country. Or dare I say it real smart Pollies.

Not only that but we pay more for the net than any first world country.

There is a small Australian Company that do Satellite TV. One branch in Qld and the other I think in Victoria.

They are called Satplus. There are others of course, but I have dealt with them and they were very good and pricing for the things I wanted were competitive.

They are well known in the Grey Nomad community.

We have received good Internet signals/data some distance on relatively flat country away from towns with a 3G/4G Telstra Modem (locked to 3G) and with a Mobile Broom stick aerial(approx 90cm) ontop of our Wingard aerial on our Tandem van.

However I believe a Blue tick phone that allows an aerial to be connected into the back of the phone, (with WifI or connected straight into the laptop via USB)and connected into the above aerial is a better option since I think data on the Phone Network has better response than Bigpond on the Modem setup.

Further you can purchase special Yagi? Mobile phone aerials that pointed to the Telstra Mobil Phone tower give better signal strength again. But requires more setup time after each move.

We have a non Telstra Sat phone and its use is a costly exercise and only there for emergencies/operational testing and no emergencies as yet.
