ya wouldn't need to re-charge the hair clippers or hair straightener very often ... well - not for Billeeeeeee (7e's) anyway
Cheers - John
Only for his beard John - had the can inverter earlier on, but didn't like my HP laptop at all - ended up burnt out anyway. I got my inverter from Repco - 600w - pure sine wave - wired straight to the house batteries, no problems in well over a year, just under $300. Worth it. Though this is the second one, someone found out you can't try and use an angle grinder on an inverter!!!!! Now, I wonder who that might have been, hmmmmm!

I have a dell and it requires a correct power input or it throws an error some chargers are also "keyed" to the laptop model. As mentioned best option is to buy a 600w pure sine-wave 12volt to 240 invertor and use the correct power supply.
Reason I mentioned 600w is they are still reasonable price and will run electric fans and other small appliances without snuffing it, the bigger ones are big bucks and you need a decent bank of batteries to make their purchase worthwhile.

The Dell I have purchased has an SSD hard drive, so the power usage is way down. Will be looking into an inverter or power adaptor. The big issue I have now is sorting out all my back-up files, over the last two days I have deleted 5000 files that were duplicated, and still more to go. Then sorting out a file structure on portable hard drives, so I don't get into this mess again. I have a program called "Duplicate file finder" to help me out.
