Alford free camp.

Great little free camp about 40 km North of Kadina.

Sited on an old football oval.

Toilets, nice playground, dump point, potable water, rubbish bins, level area, well maintained, donation requested.

Only downside, very little available in town, no shops, there is a pub, it seems to open at irregular times, so suggest stocking up before heading out there.smile

We stayed there last year, indeed a really nice spot -about five others there, we stayed a couple of days, as you say though, not much there, but very pleasant.

We stayed there for a night in March,Nice place to stop, glad to put in donation,a small place like that lucky to have a group of people to do the up keep. Was pleased to put our beer cans in their collection instead of the rubbish bin. Would recommend it. VeeDub

I stayed there for a few days in April. The area, particularly the amenities block, are kept spotless by volunteers. Sadly nothing is open in the town now, the pub and even the church had 'For Sale' signs out the front and apparently the bowling club is only open occasionally during the summer months. Despite that, it's a nice quiet place to spend a few days and use as a base for exploring the surrounding towns. Can't resist leaving a donation in one of the two cute 'honesty boxes'.
