Winegard antenna, worm replacement?

IMG_2480.JPGHello everyone, I'm replacing the worm, everything is going well....However, when I place the new worm in it sits higher than the older. I can't put the plug back on top as it sits more proud. Has anyone encountered this before? Many thanks Stenno

Hi Stenno,You need to check to see if you have the correct size worm gear shaft. There is a 14inch and a 12 1/4 inch shaft. If you have the correct one then there is a possibility that the worm gear is not mated in the correct position on the elevator quadrant and may need to be wound on. It is a while since I have had one apart but I suggest it is just an alignment problem. Hope this helps.

Thanks Patrol, I jammed the plug down and it worked well. All done and dusted. Problem solved.
